罗伯特·弗兰克（康奈尔大学教授）

人物经历

罗伯特·弗兰克（Robert H.Frank），弗兰克教授1972年开始在康奈尔大学任教，担任约翰逊管理学院的管理系教授和经济系教授。1966年，他从美国乔治亚理工学院获得学士学位，其后的两年作为和平组织的志愿者在尼泊尔的乡村教授数学和自然科学方面的课程。1972年获得加州大学伯克利分校统计学硕士学位和经济学博士学位。在进行了一段时间的教学后，他离开了康奈尔，1978—1980年担任民用航空委员会的首席经济学家，1992—1993年在行为科学高等研究中心从事研究工作，2000—2001年在巴黎一所大学任教，主要讲授美国文明方面的内容。

其他作品

弗兰克教授著有最畅销的中级经济学教材——《微观经济学和行为》（第六版）（Irwin/McGraw—Hill，2006年）。此外，他发表了很多文章，涉及的领域包括价格与工资歧视、公共事业定价、失业持续时间的度量以及外国直接投资所造成的分配结果。他的研究主要集中于经济、社会行为中的对抗与合作，与此相关的出版物包括《选择正确的池塘》（牛津大学出版社，1995年），《理智中的激情》（W.W.Norton，1988年），《如何定价道德制高点》（普林斯顿出版社，2004年），这些著作被翻译成十国语言。

获得荣誉

他和菲利普·库克是《赢家通吃的社会》（自由出版社，1995年）【中译本，海南出版社，2006，笔者注】一书的主要作者，此书获得了批评家协会选择奖，同时荣登纽约时代杂志知名书籍排行榜和商业周刊十大最佳书籍排行榜。他所发表的《奢侈的热潮》（自由出版社，1999年）被提名为1999年骑士最佳书籍。除了在研究领域的骄人成果外，弗兰克教授在教育领域也获得了很多荣誉，1987—1990年他被授予安德鲁·W.梅隆教授的称号，1991年获得美林学者项目的杰出教育者称号，1993年获得卡南事业奖。2004年他与合作者因《推动经济学思想前沿的发展》一书而荣获里昂惕夫奖，同年他又获得约翰逊学院的斯蒂芬·鲁歇尔杰出教学奖，2005年再次获得该学院的苹果杰出教学奖。弗兰克教授开设的微观经济学入门教程每年都会吸引6000多名学生，他们通过这门课程体会到了学习经济学的乐趣。被称为“全美最有趣的经济学课堂主讲教授”。
