2000年毕业于美国{亚利桑那大学},获博士学位;
2001年至2006年在美国Howard Hughes Medical Institute,The Salk Institute从事博士后研究;
2009年获得国家杰出青年基金;
2009年入选教育部长江学者特聘教授;
2007年4月至2014年6月任复旦大学遗传工程国家重点实验室副主任;
2014年6月至2019年12月任华中农业大学生命科学院院长;2020年4月至今,任河南大学学术副校长。

研究方向
主要以拟南芥( Arabidopsis thaliana)和水稻( Oryza sativa)等为系统,采用遗传学、蛋白质组学、生物化学、细胞生物学和基因组学的方法,主要研究:油菜素甾醇(brassinosteroid)的信号转导途径及其与脱落酸等信号途径的互作网络;植物激素和环境因子调控植物生长发育的机制;主要作物株高株型等产量性状的分子调控机制及转基因改良等。
王学路长期从事植物{遗传学[研究生物遗传与变异的科学]}、植物激素信号转导和逆境下植物生长发育的机制研究。在Science、Dev. Cell、eLife、 PNAS、Genes & Dev.、Cell Research、Plant Cell、Mol. Plant、Plant Physiology和JXB等有重要国际影响力的杂志发表多篇重要论文,已被它引上千次。2009年和2015年作为主译之一,翻译出版了《{植物生理学[高等教育出版社出版图书]}》国际经典教材的第四版和第五版。主持国家自然科学基金重大研究计划和面上项目,上海市浦江人才计划;参加国家水稻{转基因}专项等。
