生物技术、免疫学，肿瘤等重大疾病的免疫学诊断与治疗研究。
主要贡献
曾获国家II类新药证书一个，拥有发明专利三项、已申报发明专利12项。出国留学前，曾承担过国家863分题、国家自然科学基金、广东省重大项目、军队和广东省自然科学基金各一项。发表SCI研究论文40余篇，其中作为第一或责任（含共同责任）作者发表SCI论文20篇。在生物技术制药领域，取得了如下成绩： 1. 作为主要研发者成功研制了“重组人粒细胞集落刺激因子注射液”（于1998年获新药证书），并实现产业化。该产品1998年列入国家火炬计划，2000年被评定为江苏高新技术产品，已实现利税近亿元。
2.利用细胞膜表面蛋白质的伯氨易生物素化以及生物素与链亲和素的高效超强结合——这两个特性，发明了一种快速、高效、安全的细胞膜表面锚定修饰技术（国家863计划2006AA02Z4C4，申请发明专利9项，已授权1项；发表研究论文18篇，其中SCI收录5篇），并发展了一种防治表浅膀胱癌术后复发、安全有效的新型免疫疗法（现正在申报临床研究批文）。该平台还可适用于其它肿瘤，有望形成有自主知识产权的新型膜表面修饰肿瘤疫苗产业群。
3. 利用脂联素球部可自发聚集形成三聚体的特性，将其与可溶性肿瘤坏死因子受体II连接形成双功能融合蛋白，研制成功了一种新型高效的TNFα拮抗剂(申请发明专利2项，已授权1项), 有可能成为治疗类风湿性关节炎、肥胖症、II型糖尿病、冠心病和脂肪肝的新药[国家“重大新药创制”科技重大专项项目(2009ZX09103-649)]。
现主持省部级以上科研课题6项：国家863计划重大项目“前列腺治疗性疫苗”(2012AA02A407)、国家自然科学基金重大研究计划培育项目“连接B[a]P/B[a]PDE诱导的肺慢性炎症微环境至肺癌发生发展的分子机制” (9102970)、国家自然科学基金面上项目“ JNK1经VHL-非依赖途径调节HIF-1α蛋白降解的新功能及其机制研究” (30971516)和DGKα和ζ协同调控T 细胞无能和调节性T 细胞功能的分子机制(31270958)、国家自然科学基金海外及港澳学者合作基金“砷暴露下p50调控细胞凋亡的分子机制研究”(81229002，中方负责人)等。
