创作背景
歌词的灵感来自于乐队成员从阿伯丁经格拉斯哥前往伦敦路上的所见所感。英伦三岛多以环岛替代十字路口，所以他们得以在路上遇见许多环岛（roundabout）。一路上云层笼罩的山峦如同直指天空，形成了“山峰从天空降临”[Mountains come out of the sky, and they stand there]的灵感，“绕过湖岸”[In and around the lake]的灵感来自于格拉斯哥沿途的一个湖。
经过24小时的长途乘车旅行，乐队抵达伦敦，主场Jon Anderson得以与妻子团聚，这是“经过二十四小时我就要与你相见”[Twenty four before my love you'll see I be there with you]的灵感。
