背景

她用她的歌声讲述着学校里种种情景，球场、啦啦队、角落里的座位、舞会上的美丽邂逅……这些熟悉的场景和平常的故事被她用声音演绎得无比真切。出自其中的The Best Day是一首写给母亲的温馨赞歌，与专辑中其它抒发小女生感情的歌曲相比，The Best Day显得尤为独特和感人。

这首歌是献Taylor母亲Andrea的，是Taylor在录制第二张专辑Fearless的时候想对母亲表达自己的爱和感恩。这首歌是以讲故事的方式叙述的。刚开始的时候她说到她当时才5岁，那个时候的她什么都不懂，只觉得母亲是世界上最勇敢的人。后来到了13岁，她被同学排挤，很委屈，但她的母亲对她格外温和，同她谈心……这就是"the best day"的事。她以树木的季节变更来表示她的成长，而到歌曲最后表示她现在长大了，也懂得了很多道理，但是有一点没有变化，就是她永远爱她的母亲，永远感激她。

在Taylor十二三岁的时候，因为对乡村音乐的执着，又成为当地的小明星，受到学校同学的排挤，她感觉很委屈很孤单，她的妈妈带着她远离他们住的小镇去散散心。
