人物经历
2001年1月底赴瑞典留学。
2005年10月获瑞典皇家工学院材料科学与工程系腐蚀科学专业博士学位;同年12月到美国弗吉尼亚大学材料科学与工程系电化学中心做博士后研究,并于2005年至2010年期间分别在美国和加拿大做博士后和研究科学家。
2010年入选中国科学院‘百人计划’(引进国外杰出人才);
2011年获中国科学院‘百人计划’择优支持资格。参与和主持科研项目多项,包括:中国科学院百人计划启动项目、国家自然科学基金面上项目、留学人员科技活动重点类项目等,总经费近400万元。首次将氮化碳材料应用到光电化学阴极保护领域;首次将红外光谱显微镜技术引入到大气腐蚀领域做原位研究工作,发表在J.Electrochem. Soc.上的文章被引为研究亮点(Tech. Highlight);在薄液层电解液的二次扩展行为和机理、二氧化碳对氯化钠盐粒导致的铜大气腐蚀过程的影响机理、大气局部腐蚀的稳定性判据、薄液层电解液物理性质的解析等方面进行了系统的研究工作。发表专著1部(铜的大气腐蚀及其研究方法,科学出版社,2011),发表论文四十多篇,在国际会议上做了多个邀请报告和口头报告,是多个重要的国际腐蚀和催化杂志的审稿人。
研究领域
主要从事海洋腐蚀与防护研究,具体方向如下:
1. 海洋大气腐蚀机理、监/检测方法和防护对策研究;
2. 光电化学阴极保护机制研究;
3. 腐蚀电化学方法研究;
4. 腐蚀模型计算;
5. 太阳能电池、光催化制氢、清洁能源的开发利用研究;
6. 涂层防腐机理与加速试验方法研究。

目前课题组在研经费约400余万元:
1. 中国科学院百人计划启动项目:海洋大气腐蚀机理及防护对策研究, 200万,陈卓元主持;
2. 2012年度留学人员科技活动重点类项目:大气腐蚀防护用富镁底漆的研制,10万,陈卓元主持;
3. 国家自然科学基金面上项:目g-CN纳米结构的优化与异质结体系的构筑对光电化学阴极保护的影响机理研究, 76万,2014/1/1-2017/12/31,陈卓元主持。
