这首歌的大致主题是在描述男子和爱人的夜晚计划。歌曲节奏欢快，十分容易上口和带动气氛，之后歌名也被作为Luke个人第二轮巡演的名字加以推广（相关的That's My Kind of Night Tour情况可到Luke Bryan百科查看）。为配合巡演，Luke的团队也为这首歌拍摄了本专唯一一首巡演MV，后来拍摄的正式MV也挺用心。

但恰是这个的主题问题，导致这首歌遭到了许多乡村名流的批评。众多音乐人表示这首歌的主题呆板过时，充满了各类陈词滥调，甚至有人毫不留情地说，Luke唱这首歌显得十分无耻和没有自知之明。

在13年9月的一次采访上，老牌乡村天团Zac Brown Band的主唱Zac Brown公开表示这是他听过的最糟糕的歌曲(后来Zac Brown表示他只是对这首歌曲十分不满，并不针对Luke本人)，而圈内也仅有部分关系甚好的朋友如Jason Aldean表示支持，颇有点山穷水尽的味道。
